Daniel is going International With St. Luke

Eight year old Daniel L Tulloch, the Jamaican Flash (left) is going international.

Dear Track and Field Supporters:

Our son, Daniel L. Tulloch is a track and field athlete with St. Luke’s Spirit Track Club in Philadelphia, PA. Members of our team have been given the opportunity to represent our community and the United States at the Flying Angels International Track Classic in Toronto, Canada this summer. This International Classic will take place on the campus of York University the weekend of July 5th

During this competition, the team will have the rare chance to interact and compete against some of the best athletes from the US, Canada and Bermuda using International Rules. In addition to this meet, the team will be competing in the Niagara region four days after the completion of the International Classic in Canada. This competition will determine how many of the club’s athletes will qualify to compete in the United States of America Track and Field Association's Junior Olympics.

The team consists of thirty-five diverse athletes ages 6-18, from various socio-economic, racial and educational backgrounds. We believe that any child, who has a desire to run, has an opportunity to run. As an example, in previous years, our roster has included youth living in transition and foster care, through our community outreach partnerships with a local family shelter and children services organizations. In spite of the come one, come all approach, an average of 40% to 50% of our athletes qualifies for the National Junior Olympics.

In order for my child and team to compete in this once in a lifetime event, which will help them grow physically, socially and emotionally, I need your help. I’m inviting individuals and businesses to help defray our cost through donations and sponsorships. Our goal is to raise $15,000, by May 21, 2013. Can we count on your help?

Businesses and/or individuals who would like to be listed as a sponsor may do so with a minimum donation of $500.00. Donations or Sponsorships can be made by visiting http://www.gofundme.com/2pbpew  or mailing a check made payable to:

St. Luke’s Recreational Ministry, 5421 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19144

As a sponsor, you will receive the following:

·         Your name or business will appear in our local newspaper recognizing your participation as an official sponsor
·         Your name will appear on the back of a special shirt worn by our athletes while we are traveling.

We thank you in advance for your support as there is no donation which is too small. Our son Daniel, as well as the team, is grateful for any contribution that you can make. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me Coach Andrew Lofton, Stephanie Tulloch, or the organization @ stlukestrack@gmail.com.

Thank you,

Parent: (Stephanie and Damine Tulloch)
Coach Andrew Lofton
