Great Day for the Flash

Daniel is showing off his Gold and Bronze Metals

The Flash had two championship meets in a row; the UNITED AGE GROUP TRACK COACHES ASSOCIATION (UAGTCA) meet at Lehigh University on Feb. 19, 2012 in Bethlehem, Pa. and the USA Track and Field (USATF) meet at Widener University in Chester, Pa. on March 11, 2012. The first meet was badly managed by the UAGTCA. They canceled the 1500 Meter Run. That was the major reason why we drove so far for this meet. Daniel made a classic 6 year old mistake of running part of the 800 Meter run in lane 6 while watching everyone else run in lane 1. He won his heat in the 400 Meter but they failed to properly time that heat so his time was unreliable. So this is the result of the UAGTCA Championship Meet;

10th Place in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 3 Minutes, 41.17 Seconds

18th Place in the 400 Meter Run that was awarded to him because of a timing malfunction

Cancelation of the 1500 Meter Run because the meet ran out of time for the use of the facility.

Daniel preparing for his 1500 Meter Run

On March 11, 2012, USATF ran their meet better. However, I believe that Daniel won the 800 Meter run. They ran the Sub-Bantam and Bantam boys together. One of the officials got confused and stopped Daniel from finishing thinking that he was the leader in the bantam race. So they awarded 3rd place and a time to Daniel for the 800 Meter Run. I could have protested but I would have to pay a $20.00 Protest Fee and if I would have won all he would have gotten was a gold metal instead of a bronze metal. This is how the 800 Meter Race finished;

First Place Paul Baldwin of the Living Waters Athletic Club with a time of 2 Minutes, 56.18 Seconds.

Second Place Othello Adiepong of the St Luke Spirit Track Club with a time of 3 Minutes, 32.05 Seconds.

Third Place Daniel Tulloch Unattached with a time of 3 Minutes, 33.63 Seconds.

Fourth Place Johnathon Truesdale Unattached with a time of 3 Minutes, 44.37 Seconds.

Fifth Place William Kain Unattached with a time of 3 Minutes, 48.85 Seconds.

In the 1500 Meter Run, Daniel started off getting knocked to the back of the pack at the start. But like clockwork he moved himself up the field of Sub-Bantam runners until he got behind the one Bantam 10 year old that was running with them. The other runners tried to stay with Daniel for the first 2 laps but ran out of fuel going into the 3rd lap. That is when the race became no contest. Daniel pulled away. The race was over for Daniel and he was walking back to see me when the last person pulled into the finish line. This is how the 1500 Meter Race finished;

First Place Daniel Tulloch with a time of 6 Minutes, 38.96 Seconds.

Second Place William Kain with a time of 7 Minutes, 10.89 Seconds.

Third Place Johnathon Truesdale with a time of 7 Minutes, 24.31 Seconds.

All three boys are unattached from any track club.

Daniel’s 6 year old abilities

Daniel has been clocked at a constant 8 Miles an hour running for 10 minutes. He has also been clocked at a constant 9 mile per hour running for 5 minutes. His objective is to run at constant 10 mile for 10 minutes by July 1, 2012.

Future Summer Meet Schedule

This is the end of the 2012 Indoor Track Season. Daniel will start training for the 2012 Outdoor Track season. The first Track Meet will be on May 5, 2012 at Charles Martin Stadium Philadelphia, PA. Daniel will be in two events; 1500 Meter, and for the first time, a field event, the long jump. He may have to skip the UAGTCA 2012 Outdoor Championship - 6/2/2012 because that is the same dates as the 2012 USATF Mid-Atlantic Association Preliminary Area Qualifiers Meet at Glasgow High School, Newark, Del. If we can switch to the Ben Johnson Stadium Preliminary Meet in Germantown, we might make the UAGTCA.

So the Daniel’s Summer Schedule is shaping up to look like this.

May 5, 2012 -- UAGTCA Meet No. 1 at Charles Martin Stadium Philadelphia, PA

May 19, 2012 -- UAGTCA 2012 Outdoor Meet 3 at Ben Johnston Stadium Philadelphia, PA

· June 2, 2012 -- UAGTCA 2012 Outdoor Championship at Charles Martin Stadium Philadelphia, PA

June 3, 2012 – USATF Med-Atlantic Association Outdoor Preliminary Area Qualifier Meet at Ben Johnson Stadium in Germantown, Top 6 advance to the Association meet.

June 16, 2012 – USATF Med-Atlantic Association Championship at West Chester University in West Chester, Top 6 advance to the Region 2 Meet.

July 5 thru 8, 2012 – USATF Region 2 Meet at Delaware University in Newark, De. Top 5 advance to the National Meet.

July 23 thru 29, 2012 -- National USATF Junior Olympic Outdoor Championship at Hughes Stadium at Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD.

· Depending on the scheduling. USATF takes priority
