Rev. Swope and the Lake Erie UFOs

The Lake Erie UFOs

I asked the Rev. what he thought of the Catholic Church doing a "360" concerning alien life. In a time of 50 years, they stopped excommunicating people from the church for believing that UFOs and aliens exist to saying that it is "OK" to believe in UFOs and aliens. His answer: he thinks the church knows something.

Rev. Robin Swope

Rev. Swope was the first speaker at the Eerie UFO Conference. I was surprised to see a minister involved and leading UFO investigations. He spoke extensively about UFO and alien investigations in the Northwestern Pennsylvania Area.

Rev. Swope is a writer and has been a Christian Minister for more than 20 years in both Mainline and Evangelical demonstrations. He holds a BA in Biblical Literature from Myack College and a Masters of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry with an emphasis on "Counseling from Alliance Theological Seminary." He has served as a Missionary to Burkina Faso and has ministered to the homeless in New York City's "Hell's Kitchen."

Robin is currently the Pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Erie, Pa. He is also a freelance journalist for Examiner.com, has a column in the Tri-state Senior News and has also written for Fate Magazine.

His blog, above is listed as one of the top 10 paranormal and supernatural websites worldwide and has been highlighted on various paranormal internet news sites such as; Coast-to-Coast AM Radio, The Anomalist, Cryptomundo, Haunted America Tours, Fortean Times and About.com.

As a Seminary trained Exorcist, he has done consulting work with various Paranormal Investigators and television productions in the United States as well as investigators and writers around the globe.

In his presentation, he disclosed that the Air Force Training Manual in Chapter 33 in the late 1960s taught cadets that the world has four different types of aliens;

1. Nordic people look like us and is walking among us
2. Greys who can be short or tall with grey color skin
3. Insect people who look like insects
4. Reptiles are reptilian looking people.

The objective of these UFO Conferences

If you follow the media concerning UFO/alien/paranormal conference and meetings, you get the impression that the people involved are a bunch of crazies and con-artist looking to make a buck. They focus on the "carnival" atmosphere and the funny dressed attendees. In the movie, Independence Day, you see these people dressed up in shinny suits waiting to get blown up by aliens.

At the Eerie UFO Conference I found no such atmosphere. The atmosphere was friendly but business like with the five speakers giving current information about UFO and Paranormal events. These conferences serve two purposes;

  • To give the people whose life has been changed by UFO and Paranormal experiences, a place to go to talk about their life changing issues.

  • To give the average citizen information about UFO and Paranormal activity going on around the world.

Bethany Outreach Center

This year's Eerie UFO Conference will benefit the Bethany Outreach Center. MUFON in conjunction with the Lighthouse Neighborhood Watch Association and the Erie UFO Sky Watch will donate proceeds to the Center.

The Bethany Outreach is a volunteer driven Christian organization, rooted in Erie's east side, reaching out to all people who need a hand up and hope for life change. The Erie area broad based ministries address the material, vocational, and spiritual needs for people on the edge.

Bethany Outreach, in the Neighborhood Partnership Center at 254 East Tenth Street,  Erie, Pa. reaches out to those who have no hope and are living on the edge in downtown Erie which is in the area of highest poverty.

  • The average income in the area is $10,484.
  • 92% of the homes have the possibility of lead poisoning.
  • Unemployment is higher than the national average.
  • The violent crime rate is double the national average.
  • Over 38% of the families are single mothers with children.
  • One of three families in the City of Erie, Pa. is in poverty which includes 50% of the cities children.
