This May Change the Life of Your Family

I am going to discuss something that is as serious as a heart attack. I want you to watch this video that I made of two year old David Tulloch playing with his small computer. Pay close attention to the questions that I ask 7 year old Daniel and 2 year old david.  My age is 61. I am giving you their ages for a reason.

This should be a serious warning to you. You have a toddler that is not potty trained with hand and eye coordination of a 16 year old. This toddler has the basic understanding of how to operate small electronic systems. He plays some game called world 3 on the computer. His 7 year old brother cannot out play him on some games. Daniel can not match his playing on the World 3 game. Stephanie his mother and his electronic knowledgeable father Damine cannot out play him either. 

His mother doesn’t understand what he is doing. At the doctor’s office recently, he played with his small computer in front of the doctor who claims that he never saw toddlers do what David is doing. I am a computer programmer and I have no clue what he is doing.   

I took my Main frame computer course in the late 1960 and 1970s. I was state of the art, so I thought. My younger brother (9 years younger than me) went to Pitt and specialized in PC Systems. I thought that he was out of his mind and did not believe that he would get a job. What I did not know was that the world had already passed me by and his skills were in demand. By the year 2000, I had to get my daughter to show me how to use Windows on my PC. By 2009, my grandson Daniel at age 4 knew how to use a smart phone. He has to turn on the TV for me because I don’t know how to operate their sound system. Today, you have a 2 year old that can use a Smartphone and small computers like it was something common to do.

World technology changes 100% every four years today. So children will be lost in this world economy if they do not have a good comprehension of reading, writing, arithmetic, and technology by the time they reach first grade.  

You may think that your child is doing better than John, Paul, or Lakeshia living down the street. But that is not your child’s competition. Your child’s competition for jobs and opportunity will come from the children in Japan, China, India, Mongolia, the Middle East countries, and the rest of the world. Yes, David can work small electronic equipment but believe it or not, he is slightly behind many children living in countries where you were taught is the third world!
